Orchestra Council

The Europera Youth Orchestra has voted!

The participants of EYOʻs summer project 2015 have elected the following members as part of the orchestra council in the 2015/16 season with a turnout of 76%: one year from october 2015, Johann-Markus Börner, Matěj Hřib and Michał Bień act as connection link between management and the ensemble. Thus, they are able to bring any possible problems, wishes, suggestions - also regarding the orchestraʻs repertory - to the boardʻs attention and have a say in EYOʻs future as representatives of the whole orchestra.

Johann-Markus Börner, double bass

My name is Johann-Markus Börner and I am 17 years old.

I have been playing in the Europera Youth Orchestra for about 1 1/2 years now. 4 years ago, I have started playing the double bass. However, I have gathered some musical and stage experience playing the violin for 10 years prior to that.

I have not been playing in the orchestra for a long time, but still I am all the happier and prouder to be part of it.

Matěj Hřib, clarinet

I am from Semily, where my musical education has begun. I took my first lessons on the recorder in 2003, two years later I held a clarinet in my hands for the first time. In 2009, I became part of the Podkrkonošský symfonický orchestr, which joins music enthusiasts from the vast circuit of Semily. During two seasons (2011 and 2014) I also performed solo with this orchestra.
I have started playing in EYO in 2013, during the summer tour through France (Euroorchestries) and in the role of soloist in Krommer's concerto for two clarinets.
I won the first place in the central music schools' competition in 2015.

Regarding my studies, I have graduated from the school of music and design in Hradec Králové (SUPŠ HNN) in 2015. Beginning in october, I dedicate myself to the clarinet in the Prague Conservatory. I like the world of art (and the world in general): the pathetic music from the highs of romanticism and wild journeys through the 20th century; Bernini, Schiele and many more; high-quality series and low-quality jokes.

Michał Bień, Cello

I am from Jelenia Góra, where I started my musical education at the age of 11 in the music school PSM I i II stonia im. Stanisława Moniuszki. From october 2015 I study at the Music Academy Karola Lipińskiege in Wrocław.In 2013 I performed the piece "The Swan" from The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saens together with the music schools symphonic orchestra, and in 2015 I appeared as soloist together with the Lower Silesian philharmonic orchestra in "Kol Nidrei" by Max Bruch.

Besides solo music I am also very interested in chamber music. In 2013, as part of a chamber string quartet, I won the first place in the XIV International Chamber Ensemble Auditions in Jawor.I have taken part in a number of music projects and workshops: in master classes for cello in Szamotuły, in "Support the Stars" courses in Jelenia Góra, chamber music workshops in Moravia and in the project "EUROCHESTRIES" in Pons, France. Plus, since once year, I have participated in EYO.

Next to music, I am also interested in pop culture and other fields of art.
